About Us
Avraham Chaim Apatow, Ph.D. (aka, Robert Apatow) is the founder of Sharey Orah (Gates of Light), a program for meditation and personal growth in Israel. He has spent the last six years living in Jerusalem where he has studied the secrets of the Torah and Kabbalah with some of Israel’s leading teachers. Dr. Apatow is a former professor of philosophy and the author of three books, The Knowledge of God, The Spiritual Art of Dialogue (Inner Traditions, 1998) and The Secret to Achieving Personal Goals (Inner Active Media, 2004), as well as several articles for magazines such as Parabola, Executive Excellence, and New Perspectives. Dr. Apatow is a counselor and management consultant and one of the leading experts in the world on the Socratic approach to personal growth, communication, and human problem-solving.
About our Name
Sharey Orah is a Hebrew phrase that means “gates of light.” Gates of light is a Kabbalistic term for the divine powers of God powers like love, strength, harmony. The Torah teaches that man is made in the image of God and that our challenge is to bring these powers into the world.
